Actor and <a href="http://www.myvoiceoverguy.com"target="_blank"rel="external"title="voice over" >voice over artist, DC Douglas, released a <a href="http://www.myvoiceoverguy.com/voice-over/"target="_blank"rel="external"title="voiceover blog" >blog post today raising the stakes for an online petition fans had started. The petition is to encourage the producers of the AMC cult hit “The Walking Dead” to cast Douglas on an episode as a way of acknowledging the Resident Evil franchise. Douglas writes in his post about certain misgivings:

Here were some very funny, fun and energetic young people trying to motivate friends and strangers to sign a petition just to get a middling LA actor another job. While I love to work (and would LOVE to be on “The Walking Dead”) and I do have a healthy (gluttonous) ego, I couldn’t help but feel this was a misuse of their <a href="http://twitter.com/DC_Douglas"target="_blank"rel="external"title="DC Douglas on Twitter" >twitter love. The end goal is just to help one already happy and healthy dude?

So Douglas has decided to donate $1 to charity for every signature gained.

I will donate a dollar per signature (up to $1000) to charity. The charity will be chosen from 5 possibilities by fans on my <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/DC-Douglas-Actor-Voice-Over-Artist/120486757436?ref=nf"target="_self"rel="external"title="DC Douglas facebook" >Facebook page (voting survey to be posted on my page by the end of May).

The five charities they’ll choose from are:

Animal Welfare Institute
Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind
Goodwill Industries International – N.O.
Sierra Club Foundation
Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research

So, won’t you help me put my ego in place, raise funds for charity, and get Nathan’s petition fulfilled?

Actor and <a href="http://www.myvoiceoverguy.com"target="_blank"rel="external"title="voice over" >voice over artist D.C. Douglas is known in the horror-zombie genre for voicing “Resident Evil” villain Albert Wesker. Since it’s apparent Wesker will not be in the upcoming “Resident Evil 6″ game, fans on <a href="http://twitter.com/DC_Douglas"target="_blank"rel="external"title="DC Douglas on Twitter" >Twitter have started an online petition to get D.C. Douglas, who is also an on-camera actor, a guest star spot on AMC’s cult hit, “The Walking Dead.”

Douglas began interacting with his fans after the release of “Resident Evil 5″ on <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/DC-Douglas-Actor-Voice-Over-Artist/120486757436?ref=nf"target="_self"rel="external"title="DC Douglas facebook" >Facebook (where he is closing in on 10,000 fans) and then on Twitter (@DC_Douglas). Nathan Narain (@_N_a_t_h_a_n__), a fan of the RE games and DC Douglas follower, took the lead after this exchange:

@Iagooficiall
you watch the walking dead? Speak about this? I want you in cast of the walking dead *-*

@DC_Douglas
Yes I do. Would love to b on it!

@_N_a_t_h_a_n__
You should’ve played Rick damn it!

@DC_Douglas
Sadly, you have to be an Aussie or a Brit to get the lead in a USA series these days…

@_N_a_t_h_a_n__
So true haha! Well you need to be in Season 3

@DC_Douglas
I’ll sign that petition. There should be enough zombie fans to wanna see #Wesker VA on there!

@_N_a_t_h_a_n__
I am going to make a petition for you for season 4! Sound good?

The petition, which you can sign here, is up to 100 signatures as of Sunday morning.

From the press release:

Douglas joins Tri-Booking’s on-camera client list, which includes Ving Rhames, Michelle Rodriguez, and Stephanie Beacham.

Yes, March is going to be an insane month for fans of D.C. Douglas. D.C. posted on his <a href="http://www.myvoiceoverguy.com/voice-over/"target="_blank"rel="external"title="voiceover blog" >blog tonight that he is in 4 new video games coming out this month, including Mass Effect 3. He can also be seen on TV, as well as in person at the Animation & Gaming Con in Ohio.

Meet me in person at the Animation & Gaming Convention in Ohio! It’s my second time there and my second con ever! Yup. Not a con virgin anymore, but certainly shy and inexperienced. Please be gentle.

Schedule includes:

Friday Opening Ceremonies & autograph session.
Saturday morning – autograph session.
Saturday at noon – Star Wars: The Old Republic panel with Richard Epcar!
Saturday at 1:00 – On The Spot Dubbing with Steve Downes!

But my favorite event is one I asked for:
Saturday at 9:30 pm – Drinking Q & A with me! (21 or older only – sorry)
This 90 minutes will be filled with tipsy answers to silly questions. There will be blood… I mean, there will be prizes and drinks!

D.C. will be seen on two sitcoms this month. too”

For sitcom fans (and videogame fans who’d like to see Legion as flesh & blood) my episode of 2 Broke Girls airs on CBS! Read my behind-the-scenes account of working the show here.

Getting back to my doughy ass on the boob tube, my episode of Hot in Clevelandairs on TV Land! Though a small role, the experience was amazing. You can read my behind-the-scenes account here.

Actor and <a href="http://www.myvoiceoverguy.com"target="_blank"rel="external"title="voice over" >voice over artist D.C. Douglas has just wrapped shooting an episode of CBS’s new hit show, “2 Broke Girls.” Earlier today he posted a behind-the-scenes <a href="http://www.myvoiceoverguy.com/voice-over/"target="_blank"rel="external"title="voiceover blog" >blog entry about his experience and the other guest actors he worked with.

D.C. also recounts how his voice over and careers intersected for the first time on a sitcom.

While rehearsing my scene for CBS’s 2 Broke Girls, Kat Dennings remarked, “You have such an amazing voice!” Then others chimed in. No problem, I already had the gig. So I ran down some of my VO “hits” and then we continued rehearsing.

One of the things I love about working on a sitcom is the never-ending refining of the script up to and through the actual taping. The next day the script had been rewritten to include a reference to my character’s voice. Yes, I had broken the curse! Finally, my voice was not just an asset, but a laugh line! I’d tell you more, but you’ll have to tune-in to the episode…

Actor D.C. Douglas (IMDb) has released four of his previous self-produced film shorts on YouTube. All he asks in return is that people help stop ACTA.

Douglas has been a <a href="http://www.dcdouglas.com"target="_blank"title="actor" >character actor for over twenty years and was most recently seen on ABC’s “Castle” and FOX’s “Raising Hope.” As a <a href="http://www.myvoiceoverguy.com"target="_blank"rel="external"title="voice over" >voice over artist, Douglas has voiced several popular characters in the past, including Albert Wesker in the last 5 “Resident Evil” games and Legion in “Mass Effect 2 & 3.” He can be heard as ‘Chase’ the police car in the upcoming “Transformers: Rescue Bots” series on The Hub starting February 18th.

“I had a fantastic debate with some fans on my <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/DC-Douglas-Actor-Voice-Over-Artist/120486757436?ref=nf"target="_self"rel="external"title="DC Douglas facebook" >facebook page about SOPA, PIPA and piracy,” says Douglas, “and then YouTube granted my account longer uploads a week later. As I was uploading these older films I realized that a <a href="http://www.myvoiceoverguy.com/voice-over/"target="_blank"rel="external"title="voiceover blog" >blog post with the sexy SEO title of ‘Free Online Movies’ might give me an opportunity with a certain audience to subtely address the grey area between over-reaching legislation and my right to make money off of my work.

Douglas concedes that the message may get lost. “Even if it doesn’t connect with them, at least my babies get an audience again and stopacta.com will get more hits.”

The films released by Douglas are “Falling Words” (a sociopath looks for his soul mate at a bar), “The Eighth Plane” (two Scientologists get carried away), “Freud & Darwin Sitting in a Tree” (social taboos and family dysfunction collide), and “Duck, Duck, GOOSE!” (an award winning romantic farce).

Douglas’ latest film short, “The Crooked Eye,” stars Fay Masterson and Academy Award winner Linda Hunt. It is available on iTunes and not included in this catalogue release. Douglas’ most recent video produced soley for YouTube, “Why Occupy Wall Street?” received over 900,000 hits and was picked up by Move On and aired on MSNBC.

D.C. Douglas is represented by AVO Talent for voice over and The Daniel Hoff Agency for film and television.

See the films that were released HERE.

Indie film website FilmThreat.com has posted a glowing review of D.C. Douglas’ surreal film short, “The Crooked Eye.”

The Crooked Eye manages to envelop the viewer in the atmosphere of Sharon’s mind, for better or for worse. The omnipresent narration of Linda Hunt eventually seems to come less from the screen and more from your own head (how did she get in there!?!) and the pleasant look of the film offsets the not quite so pleasant emotions that the story itself creates.

“The Crooked Eye” was released on iTunes two weeks ago and has already garnered a user rating of 5 stars. The film can be seen here: www.TheCrookedEye.com

From the press release:

The Hub confirmed last week that actor and voice over artist, D.C. Douglas (IMDb), has been cast in their much anticipated cartoon series, “Transformers: Rescue Bots,” playing Chase – the police car.

Douglas has voiced several popular characters in the past, including Albert Wesker in the last 5 “Resident Evil” games, Legion in “Mass Effect 2 & 3,” and numerous characters in the libertarian cult hit, “The American Dream.”

“This is a whole new level, though,” says Douglas. “I’ve just been invited into one of the coolest franchises where I get to play with other amazing actors!”

Douglas goes into detail about his other castmates in this transformers blog post – a cast that includes Steve Blum, Lacey Chabert and LeVar Burton.

In order to get the word out and generate interest, Douglas published a blog post that asked his readers to download the movie as a way to thank him for his recent exploits in the media, of which he has had quite a few.

The Hollywood Report posted an interview with DC Douglas yesterday as he was the first person to tweet what Brett Ratner, director of “Tower Heist,” had said in a Q&A after a screening of the film in Hollywood.

D.C. Douglas, an actor and voice-over specialist, first tweeted about Ratner saying “rehearsal’s for fags.” The ensuing firestorm has ended with Ratner and host Eddie Murphy exiting the show and Brian Grazer taking over as producer.

Last Friday night, D.C. Douglas, an actor and voice-over specialist, took his girlfriend to a special screening of Brett Ratner’s Tower Heist at the Hollywood’s Arclight Cinemas. Little did Douglas know that Ratner’s post-show question-and-answer session after the movie—and Douglas’ reaction to it on <a href="http://twitter.com/DC_Douglas"target="_blank"rel="external"title="DC Douglas on Twitter" >Twitter—would put him at the center of a controversy that has funamentally changed the 2012 Academy Awards.
