Here were some very funny, fun and energetic young people trying to motivate friends and strangers to sign a petition just to get a middling LA actor another job. While I love to work (and would LOVE to be on “The Walking Dead”) and I do have a healthy (gluttonous) ego, I couldn’t help but feel this was a misuse of their twitter love.  The end goal is just to help one already happy and healthy dude?

So Douglas has decided to donate $1 to charity for every signature gained.

I will donate a dollar per signature (up to $1000) to charity. The charity will be chosen from 5 possibilities by fans on my Facebook page (voting survey to be posted on my page by the end of May).

The five charities they’ll choose from are:

Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind
Goodwill Industries International – N.O.
Sierra Club Foundation
Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research

D.C. also recounts how his voice over and careers intersected for the first time on a sitcom.

While rehearsing my scene for CBS’s 2 Broke Girls, Kat Dennings remarked, “You have such an amazing voice!” Then others chimed in. No problem, I already had the gig. So I ran down some of my VO “hits” and then we continued rehearsing.

One of the things I love about working on a sitcom is the never-ending refining of the script up to and through the actual taping. The next day the script had been rewritten to include a reference to my character’s voice. Yes, I had broken the curse! Finally, my voice was not just an asset, but a laugh line! I’d tell you more, but you’ll have to tune-in to the episode…

Douglas has been a character actor for over twenty years and was most recently seen on ABC’s “Castle” and FOX’s “Raising Hope.” As a voice over artist, Douglas has voiced several popular characters in the past, including Albert Wesker in the last 5 “Resident Evil” games and Legion in “Mass Effect 2 & 3.” He can be heard as ‘Chase’ the police car in the upcoming “Transformers: Rescue Bots” series on The Hub starting February 18th.

“I had a fantastic debate with some fans on my facebook page about SOPA, PIPA and piracy,” says Douglas, “and then YouTube granted my account longer uploads a week later. As I was uploading these older films I realized that a blog post with the sexy SEO title of ‘Free Online Movies’ might give me an opportunity with a certain audience to subtely address the grey area between over-reaching legislation and my right to make money off of my work.

Douglas concedes that the message may get lost. “Even if it doesn’t connect with them, at least my babies get an audience again and stopacta.com will get more hits.”

The films released by Douglas are “Falling Words” (a sociopath looks for his soul mate at a bar), “The Eighth Plane” (two Scientologists get carried away), “Freud & Darwin Sitting in a Tree” (social taboos and family dysfunction collide), and “Duck, Duck, GOOSE!” (an award winning romantic farce).

Douglas’ latest film short, “The Crooked Eye,” stars Fay Masterson and Academy Award winner Linda Hunt. It is available on iTunes and not included in this catalogue release. Douglas’ most recent video produced soley for YouTube, “Why Occupy Wall Street?” received over 900,000 hits and was picked up by Move On and aired on MSNBC.

With the help of one of his fans, Matt Dusing, he was able to collect a few scenes from the game and create a video for the fans.  The video appears on his voice over website (www.MyVoiceOverGuy.com) as well as on YouTube.

The Crooked Eye manages to envelop the viewer in the atmosphere of Sharon’s mind, for better or for worse. The omnipresent narration of Linda Hunt eventually seems to come less from the screen and more from your own head (how did she get in there!?!) and the pleasant look of the film offsets the not quite so pleasant emotions that the story itself creates.

The Hub confirmed last week that actor and voice over artist, D.C. Douglas (IMDb), has been cast in their much anticipated cartoon series, “Transformers: Rescue Bots,” playing Chase – the police car.

Douglas has voiced several popular characters in the past, including Albert Wesker in the last 5 “Resident Evil” games, Legion in “Mass Effect 2 & 3,” and numerous characters in the libertarian cult hit, “The American Dream.”

“This is a whole new level, though,” says Douglas. “I’ve just been invited into one of the coolest franchises where I get to play with other amazing actors!”

D.C. Douglas, an actor and voice-over specialist, first tweeted about Ratner saying “rehearsal’s for fags.” The ensuing firestorm has ended with Ratner and host Eddie Murphy exiting the show and Brian Grazer taking over as producer.

Last Friday night, D.C. Douglas, an actor and voice-over specialist, took his girlfriend to a special screening of Brett Ratner’s Tower Heist at the Hollywood’s Arclight Cinemas. Little did Douglas know that Ratner’s post-show question-and-answer session after the movie—and Douglas’ reaction to it on Twitter—would put him at the center of a controversy that has funamentally changed the 2012 Academy Awards.
